The UltraClot®/BallistiClot® formulation, is a patented and FDA-approved hemostatic technology that provides a platform for application-specific products designed to control severe hemorrhage along with providing antimicrobial protection under the most adverse conditions.
UltraClot® Gauze unique hemostatic formulation increases the absorption rate and capacity of 6 layers of formula embedded gauze, wicking excess blood from the wound site while accelerating clot formation. Its efficacy is proven by the results of  U.S. Military and independent Comparative Performance studies and the lives it has saved on the battlefield. Currently, UltraClot® products are in use by U.S. Special Forces; U.S. Dept. of State; Afghan, Iraq, and Kurdish Armed Forces; NGOs in Africa. 
BallistiClot® is the catheter injected paste form of the UltraClot® formulation which controls severe hemorrhage in narrow entry/exit wounds even with indirect wound tracks where visualization and treatment of the wound source is impossible. 
UltraClot® OTC Cream is the commercially available, over-the counter, paste form for everyday use. It controls mild to moderate bleeding in people, even those with clotting issues, including people taking blood thinners or other medications.
UltraClot® has been proven 100% safe. The primary active ingredient is a proprietary formulation containing beneficiated hectorite clay. “Hectorite is a clay mineral similar in structure to MMT (montmorillonite) but with more negative charges on its surface. It is hydrophilic swelling clay composed of silicate sheets which delaminate in water to provide an open three-dimensional structure.”¹ Unlike other clay-based hemostatic agents, this open three-dimensional structure eliminates any possibility of occlusion or thrombosis. It is even used as a drug delivery vehicle for the controlled release of therapeutic agents injected into highly vascular tumors.
In addition, the active ingredient in UltraClot® contains antimicrobial properties proven effective in inhibiting the growth of even drug resistant bacteria such as MRSA and E. coli.
